Portraits

more than just a photograph

One of the influencing factors for me wanting to be a portrait photographer was instilled in me many years ago. An elderly lady asked me about the photos I have with my children.
When I answered there are too few, because I don’t like photos of me.
She asked when I was going to stop being selfish — what would happen if you died and your children could not describe you to their children, or to their grand children.
In that moment,  I stood with regret. One of the most uncomfortable things to feel. I will never get to take those photos.
I want to give others the opportunity I no longer have. This is also why I sell wall art and do not give image files. Too often files do not get printed.
