A few weeks after a fire had swept through the area around Lake Leslie (Leslie Dam to the locals) at Warwick, QLD, I was driving with my camera towards the end of the day and stopped to see if any birds would come by. As the sun was disappearing and giving beautiful shards of light, this butterfly came into view. I was so very thankful to capture its flight to a small branch at the top of a charred tree.
